Always remember that you have the option to get a nosejob if you want one.
When I was real little we were visiting my Granny in Ireland and she told me not to play with the dog because it bites. I didn’t listen and sure enough, it bit me, and I cried and cried and cried and now I don’t particularly like dogs, so it strikes me as particularly good advice because it was aimed at keeping me from experiencing a potentially traumatizing incident at a very young age and, had I heeded the warning, I could very well be a different person today!
From Tumblr user thegirlwhowasengulfedinflames:
“Never eat dessert” —my grandfather, ad nauseum, to anyone who will listen, including the waitress at Ruby Tuesdays trying to offer him some ice cream.
My grandparents came to this country from Germany shortly after World War II so they always told us to never forget to be thankful that we are Americans. Actually, it was often more like, “Quit your whining! You have it so good here in the USA,” but you get the merits. And so did we.
You get places faster if you don’t hurry.
My nana told me that I should date as many men as possible.
From Tumblr YrFriendLiz: “Be true to your teeth or they’ll be false to you” said Papa Taddonio about 80 billion times. Laughed every time though. I miss that man.
I was heading off to Paris and my 94-year old grandfather, who had lived there in the 1920s, told me not to date the women there as many of them would be prostitutes and they would want my money.
Stand up straight!
